The brasserie on the ground floor of Stabilimentul Creativ La Mița Biciclista is the most open of the building's spaces, with large windows facing Biserica Amzei and Cristian Tell streets. Light fills the interior in abundance during the day, and in the evening the light of the space warms this corner of the historic district.

Setting up the brasserie was yet another foray into the protagonist's personality - an exercise of imagination that brings out the story with real biographical facts, traits of her known personality and some recomposed ones. If the upstairs bar was an invitation to Mița's exclusive boudoir, the Brasserie is an open door to the guest lounge. A salon in which, if preserved, we would probably have had an ornate ceiling, golden chandeliers, paneled walls and marble floors with floral inlays, velvet curtains, carved and upholstered furniture, silver and crystal ornaments.

Maria Mihăescu became known after an article that recounts the victory of the flower beating contest in Paris on the Champs-Elysees, at the end of the 19th century, with her whip decorated with flowers - a fashionable event of the time that was also held in Bucharest, on the Kiseleff Blvd., annually on May 10th.

This incident propelled Mița's career as a high class escort, back in Bucharest, where she impressed with her beauty, boldness, extravagance, non-conformity and affinity for luxury.

The fitted velvet trousers, the bicycle with the silver handlebars, the short haircut, the blouse with puffed cuffs, the white bonnet and her beautiful face are just some of the images that have reached us, surrounding an extravagant, playful, self-assured person who loves the shine.

Today we imagined the Brasserie as a place open to the city where you can read part of the protagonist's personality and the brilliance of the beginning of the century.

NEW HERITAGE - 3rd place winner for the 2025 Biennale di Venezia Competition

We are excited to announce the groundbreaking of our ambitious project for the renewal of an existing building within Făgăraș protected area. The proposal seeks to honor the architectural heritage of the site while transforming it into a refined three-star hotel. What if architecture could do more than create spaces—what if it could forge connections? Our proposal celebrates Romania’s unique cultural landscapes, where nature and tradition coexist in harmony. This vision reclaims sustainable construction and community-driven practices, reshaping architecture as a mediator between humanity and the natural world. Construction thus becomes a communal act, bringing people together whilst architecture isn’t just built—it’s lived, shared, and sustained.
