Eliza Yokina, architect and co-founder of CUMULUS Architecture Office, was a speaker at the NZEB Expo Bucharest, held in June 2025—an event dedicated to Net Zero Energy Buildings and sustainable approaches in architecture and construction.
During her presentation, Eliza addressed the role of design in creating energy-efficient, responsible interventions, emphasizing the importance of working with existing buildings and cultural context. A key reference was Casa Ienăchița, an educational project that demonstrates appropriate, sensitive ways of intervening on a traditional house—balancing energy performance, heritage value, and long-term sustainability.
NZEB Expo brings together professionals, innovators, and decision-makers from across the built environment to explore solutions and best practices supporting the transition toward net-zero energy performance in both new buildings and renovations.
Eliza’s participation reflects CUMULUS’ commitment to sustainable architecture, education, and design approaches that respect both place and existing built heritage.
DESIGNING HOSPITALITY:
CUMULUS at Hospitality Business Forum
Arch. Adrian Soare, Co-Founder and Senior Managing Partner of CUMULUS Architecture Office, was a speaker at the Hospitality Business Forum, one of the leading platforms dedicated to hospitality investment and development in the region.
During the forum, Adrian Soare presented key CUMULUS design principles through one of the studio’s recent landmark hospitality projects, officially launched at the event: Radisson Blu Hotel & Residences Mamaia. The project reflects CUMULUS’ extensive experience in designing hospitality architecture and interior design, developed in collaboration with international brands as well as in support of local developments and Romanian brands.
The project consists of two towers, comprising 234 hotel rooms and 102 branded residences, and will offer premium facilities for both local and international visitors. Designed in close collaboration with Radisson Hotel Group’s technical and design teams, alongside CUMULUS as local architect, the development reflects the distinctive Radisson Blu brand identity through an innovative architectural approach, refined materials, and high-quality finishes.
Radisson Blu Hotel & Residences Mamaia integrates the latest technologies to deliver a premium hospitality experience. The hotel will include a wide range of accommodation options, from standard rooms to luxury presidential suites of up to 350 sqm with generous terraces. The residential tower will feature units ranging from 37 sqm studios to one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as four-room duplexes of up to 116 sqm.
This development marks an important step in Radisson Hotel Group’s expansion on Romania’s Black Sea coast, reinforcing Mamaia’s position as a key hospitality destination and highlighting the value of collaborative, design-led development.
