DISTINCTION @BUCHAREST BIENALLE 2010

Status: Built
Year: 2009
Location: Bucharest, Romania
Client: Olympia Development
Built area: 14.500 sqm
Budget: 10.5 mil euro
Partner in charge: arch. Liviu Zăgan, arch. Costin Beekman

The site has a very small area and it is considered almost impossible to build on because of the complexity of the underground networks, the proximity with the fuel station, or even the difficulty of accessing the dense and crowded street network. A seemingly trivial theme, a seemingly simple solution - an office tower.

The façade offers the necessary dynamics for the volume, and the alignments are the ones that define the attitude to the existing context, provoking and completing the market space. Together they aim to order the space and to determine the center of the market.

Cumulus wins 3rd prize @ ”Colentina Lakes” Competition

The competition aimed to develop the landscaping of the Colentina lakeshores over the entire length comprised in the 2nd District. By analyzing the geographical context we discover that Bucharest is not a flat city. Actually, the flat does not exist, there is always a slope of a few centimeters, of a few meters or sometimes of even 10 meters. Therefore, our proposal follows to rediscover the subtle slopes.
