First Marriott Courtyard in Romania has been built in Pipera area Bucharest targeting the business district of the city.

The hotel offers an ultra-contemporary, intense, and distinct presence.

The source of inspiration was the almost square shape of the land, which extruded would have generated a monolithic volume. If the first levels dedicated to the public and open to them are «slices» cut horizontally in the monolith, the upper floors with the 259 rooms are arranged in an L volume detached vertically from the monolith.

The first levels are permeable to the view with large 6m high clear glass facades, the upper floors are opaque with glass mesh for the rooms and the last section of the volume is delimited by prismatic closures made of sheet metal with the quality from non-perforated to perforated as it meets the sky

The entire building is uniformly treated in two shades of urban gray: the light gray volume and the interior cuts in dark gray monolith. The interior spaces are well sized, balanced and bright.

NEW HERITAGE - 3rd place winner for the 2025 Biennale di Venezia Competition

We are excited to announce the groundbreaking of our ambitious project for the renewal of an existing building within Făgăraș protected area. The proposal seeks to honor the architectural heritage of the site while transforming it into a refined three-star hotel. What if architecture could do more than create spaces—what if it could forge connections? Our proposal celebrates Romania’s unique cultural landscapes, where nature and tradition coexist in harmony. This vision reclaims sustainable construction and community-driven practices, reshaping architecture as a mediator between humanity and the natural world. Construction thus becomes a communal act, bringing people together whilst architecture isn’t just built—it’s lived, shared, and sustained.
